Camp atmosphere

Serengeti Wildlands Camp embraces a traditional safari spirit, under canvas, without frills. The structure remains purposeful: tents lined across the plains, centralized common areas, understated furnishings suited to the bush. The restaurant-bar is set up under a vast tent with a large communal table. This is where the English and Swahili-speaking hosts welcome guests and where safari experiences are shared at day's end.

The tents

Location and access

The camp is situated in the Seronera zone, at the heart of the Serengeti. The national park's tourism information center is also located at Seronera.

Access is primarily by air: the Seronera airstrip is served from Arusha and Dar es Salaam. Transfers between the airstrip and camp can be arranged by the property, with schedules varying by season. To reach the Serengeti from Arusha, allow several hours by flight or road depending on your chosen route.

When to visit

The camp operates from June to November and closes during the rainy season (notably April-May), when tracks become difficult to navigate and wildlife disperses.

The Seronera zone offers wildlife viewing throughout the operating season. The great migration of wildebeest and zebras toward the Masai Mara is the highlight: their arrival in the thousands precedes their movement northward through the Serengeti into Kenya.
