Tanzanie, or the United Republic of Tanzanie, is a country in East Africa. Its territorial boundaries are defined by Uganda and Kenya to the north; Mozambique to the south; Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west; and the Indian Ocean to the east. Its natural frontiers are formed by Mount Kilimanjaro and Lake Victoria in the north, the Ruvuma River in the south, Lake Tanganyika to the west, and the Indian Ocean to the east.

Tanzanie spans 945,087 square kilometers and is home to over 56.87 million inhabitants. Its capital is the city of Dodoma, and its official languages are Swahili and English.
