Main Ingredients:

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 bowl of plain yogurt
  • Cumin powder (approximately 1 to 2 teaspoons)
  • Ground black pepper
  • Ground coriander seeds
  • Red chili powder
  • Red chili flakes
  • Turmeric
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste or garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons oil

Preparation:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the main ingredients and marinate the chicken for approximately 2 hours. You can adjust the flavors by adding spices to your preferred taste.
  2. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, heat the oil and butter, then add the ginger or garlic paste.
  3. Stir and add the tomato paste.
  4. Let simmer for 2 minutes, then add the marinated chicken, cover, and cook over medium heat for approximately 15 minutes.
  5. Add the onion and tomatoes. Continue cooking until the chicken is fully cooked, the tomatoes are tender, and a rich sauce has formed.
  6. Serve the dish piping hot with naan, chapati, and/or rice.
